Product Descriptions
The oil pressure sensor is also known as the oil pressure sensor switch or oil pressure sender. Its function is to monitor the performance of the oil pump and sends this information to the engine control unit on computer-controlled vehicles or directly to the oil pressure gauge on your instrument cluster for Non-ECU equipped vehicles.
When lower than normal oil pressure is detected, the pressure sensor sends this info to the (ECU) or makes the gauge in the vehicle reflect this change. Without the proper amount of oil, your engine will sustain major damage.
