Self-lubricating Camshaft Bushing

To make them self-lubricating, the bushing has been designed with a layer of graphite or other solid lubricant to the surface of the bushing. This layer acts as a lubricant, reducing friction and wear on the camshaft and the bushing.

Another approach is to use materials that are inherently self-lubricating, such as bearings made from composite materials that contain a mixture of resins, fibers and solid lubricants. These materials offer excellent wear resistance and self-lubricating properties, reducing the need for additional lubrication.
